Caste census will continue in Bihar. Patna High Court gave its verdict.

The Patna High Court has given its verdict on Tuesday in the case of 'caste-based survey'. The court has removed the ban on 'caste-based survey'.
While giving the verdict on the petitions filed against the caste-based survey, the division bench of Chief Justice KV Chandran said that the state government can get the caste-based census done.
After this decision, Dinu Kumar, the advocate for the petitioners said in a conversation with the media that now the government can conduct a caste survey in Bihar.
Dinu Kumar will now go to the Supreme Court against this decision.
This decision was kept in reserve for the last several weeks.
A period of political accusations and counter-allegations has been witnessed in Bihar for a long time regarding the caste-based survey.
Even when the Patna High Court stayed this, the opposition BJP took a dig at the government.
Top BJP leaders said that the government did not make extensive and necessary preparations for the debate, while CM Nitish Kumar said that he already knows who are against the caste-based survey.
When the caste-based survey was stopped within Bihar, then the second phase of counting was going on.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself had shared all the information after reaching his home district.
On behalf of the government, Advocate General PK Shahi, while presenting the government's side, had said that on the basis of this survey, the government will make policies for the people of Bihar.
At the same time, the petitioners who went to the court against it had challenged it citing the violation of the privacy of the people.
